Glastonbury: 2007 I fondly remember NYC Downlow 2007 at Glastonbury as one of the most inspiring club nights I ever experienced. Together with a group of young photographers, I was commissioned by Urban Junkies to document festival-goers at Glastonbury Festival. At night (when we were off), I would seek out the Trash City field where the NYC Downlow hosted its first-ever Glastonbury parties. Trash City was the predecessor to what has now become Block 9. 2007 was one of those very muddy Glastonbury's. It rained almost solidly for the entire weekend. But it didn't matter, because it made it all the more fun. The energy in Trash City and NYC Downlow blew my mind. The vibe, the mud, the music, the performances, the punters, it was so sexually charged, so creative, and quite bonkers. It was the very first time I saw, met and snapped London Drag Royalty. Some of them would later become the protagonists in my Beautiful Freaks and London Club Kids series.
